Canoeing for everyone

These tours are designed for canoeists and active travelers alike. No canoeing experience is required. Everyone receives an introduction to paddling techniques and safety on the first day of the trip.

During the first two days, Siona natives help paddle and steer each canoe from the stern. Luggage may be carried ahead in our motor canoe. We paddle or simply float with the current for a maximum of 4 hours a day.

We always canoe with the current along the small and calm Cuyabeno River or within the Cuyabeno lake system. A motor canoe is only used to cover longer distances or when traveling upstream.

The distance between the park entrance and the Magic River Ecolodge obliges us to stay for one night on a beautiful camping spot in the midst of lush forest.

Spacious dome tents include integrated mosquito nets for ventilation.

Our 5 and 4 day tours offer a well-balanced mix of activities. Paddling is combined with jungle hikes, bird watching, night excursions, a visit to the indigenous community of the Siona, swimming and relaxing.
